Ensemble Auditions

School of Music Policy

All students enrolled in performance studies (MUSI) are required to participate in an appropriate Large Conducted Ensemble (MUS 200, 400). An audition process designed and administered by the ensemble directors in consultation with the applied faculty and approved by the Director of the School of Music will determine participation in the appropriate large conducted ensemble.

Auditions for the Wind Ensemble, Arizona Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra*, and Wind Symphony occur once per year and result in placement for the entire school year.

The audition schedule and procedures are subject to change; students who register below will be notified via email in the event of alterations.

Students must be available for the entire audition window for your instrument. Check for your specific audition time on this website on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 by 5:00 pm MST.

*Note: Returning UA Philharmonic Orchestra strings will audition on the first night the class meets and do not need to register for an audition slot.

NOTE: The registration deadline has passed and the Audition Schedule is set. If you still need to register, you may fill out the form in advance of your instrument’s audition window, and you will be added to the list on the day of the audition.
